From VrijDag to VendRedu

1997
VrijDag and BooksOnFriday. The shop opens as an antiquarian bookshop on the Vrijdagmarkt, the Friday Market in Antwerp, opposite the Plantin-Moretus Museum, and takes the name of its square: VrijDag, Dutch for Friday. Online we are BooksOnFriday.
2003
Bookday and Boekdag. The shop on the Vrijdagmarkt closes and the books move to the internet. Without the market, the name VrijDag loses its point; the web shop carries on as Bookday, and as Boekdag for Dutch-speaking readers.
2024
VendRedu. Since Easter 2024 there is a real shop again, in Redu, the book village in the Ardennes. The name winks at the beginning: vendredi, French for Friday, with Redu inside. The Friday Market of 1997 still echoes in the name.
Now
Two names, one shop. VrijDag - VendRedu sells books in several languages, art and curiosities.
