Illustrated Books

Books worth having for their plates: woodcuts, lithographs and drawings by illustrators, often in carefully produced editions.

What you will find here

Some books you buy for the text, these for the pictures as well. This section brings together editions with woodcuts, lithographs and drawings: children's books illustrated by Elisabeth Ivanovsky and Fred Garrels, French books for young readers with drawings by Edgar Tytgat, and Flemish novels by Gerard Walschap, Ernest Claes, Stijn Streuvels and Jozef Simons in illustrated editions, such as Alma met de vlassen haren with images by Jozef Cantré.

The description says who made the illustrations or the cover, and whether the copy is a first edition or signed. Have a look at the photos as well: they show the book as it is, plates included.

Every copy is unique and described individually, with its condition. You order online and we ship from Redu, the book village in the Belgian Ardennes, or you collect it in the shop.
